And the prayer of faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. James 5:15
NEW PRAYERS
COMTOIS, IDA, Oklahoma City , OK , sister of Lucille Smith, Tulsa OK , was diagnosed yesterday (7/22)with stomach cancer. She has an appointment with her Doctor in a couple of weeks see what treatments he will prescribe. She is a caregiver of my mother. Prayers for her healing would be greatly appreciated.
GUEVREMONT, FRANCES, a dear friend of Jo Inge of Oklahoma City COG, was working in her yard, started feeling bad, so went into house and called 911. When they got there, she was dead but they revived her. She is now in hospital on tubes and wires, and is in critical condition. I’m sorry to report that Frances died later that afternoon. Please pray that our Almighty and Ever-loving Father will give the family peace and comfort.
UPDATES
BERTRAND, BOB, 49 Tiberon Way , Hot Springs Village , AR 71909 – cancer of the esophagus – UPDATE: Bob’s surgery did go well. He is in ICU, hurting badly, but God's work can be seen. He underwent 7 hours of surgery. The doctor told us that he had removed some of the upper stomach and quite a bit of the lower esophagus. He said that from the tests run, etc, that the top part of the stomach had to be removed along with the cancerous esophagus. But when they got in there they found the stomach had no cancer. Most of us around here were really praying hard, and what they found could have been called God's work. Had the stomach been cancerous, he would be in much worse shape. The doctor feels strongly that he got all of the malignancy removed. Today, he was having a lot of pain, which was to be expected. He looks good, a little problem talking, but all in all, has good color and still does some joking and smiling. He is expected to be in ICU for 2 or 3 days, then to a private room for about a week. Please continue prayers for his progress back to health.
CRUZE, NICKY (son) AND TRACY (mother), 411 W Lake St #5, Chisholm MN 55719 - Nicky had foot surgery (walking without aid) and Tracy fractured her knee, (in a nursing home, healing well, in physical therapy, now has a hernia will be taken care of as soon as possible.
DART, RON, (CEM), PO Box 560 , Whitehouse TX – head injury recovery, at home, in therapy – UPDATE from Larry Watkins: I know we have been remiss with the updates lately, but there is just not a lot to report on a daily basis. However, the good news is that there has been steady and measurable progress on a daily basis, but yet slower than we would like. Ron can now walk all the way around the rehab facility with no assistance other than a walker. His aphasia is definitely lessening, but is still evident. He is now, more than ever, aware of the aphasia problem and so it is also frustrating to him, which is an awareness he did not have before. At the same time he is definitely aware of his need for all of the rehab exercises and is much more cooperative and has discussed the need for him to be more personally involved. At this point there is also the need for him to begin to be more assertive in developing reading skills and working on memory recall. He has come a long way, but there is still much work to do, so your continued prayers are very much welcomed and greatly appreciated.
HILSMAN, DOTTIE, 7985 SH 135, Jacksonville TX 75766 – back surgery – UPDATE: the stimulator inserted in her back is not working as well as hoped. Her right hip is no better than before the surgery and upper back hurts where surgery was done. They readjusted the stimulator last week, but she can’t tell much difference. They are sending her back to Dr. Serrina on Thursday 7/22 and Dr Berkson, on 8/13; both are pain management specialists. Dr. Serrina gave her injections and put in the trial stimulater and Dr. Berkson gave her therapy and pain medication. She is discouraged, and feels that she is worse off now than before the surgery. Please pray for God’s help for Dottie.
KENDALL, JUDY, Unit95/56 Carrs Road, Neath NSW, 2326, AUSTRALIA , Lou Gehrig’s Disease – breathing reduced about 50%, pain in legs and shoulders.
RICHMOND, CAROL, 1910 Jane St #111, Longview TX 75605, is currently being tested for two separate but different problems. The fires test (blood) came back showing Please remember her in your prayers.
ROJAS, CAROL, wife of Manny Rojas in Daytona, FL – leg surgery was reported as successful, but circulation was not good, so surgery was again done on Monday, 7/19, for a stent to help with the blood flow and they are dissolving blood clots. Please pray that she does not lose her second leg.
VAN WESTEN, JOHN, 15741 CR 196, Tyler TX 75703 – 2nd phase of mouth surgery - UPDATE: John’s surgery went well. However, the surgeon noticed that he is forming more of the fistula tumors inside his lower lip because of the ill fitting lower denture that he has. Those were removed and we are praying for a speedy recovery so he can get his new dentures as soon as possible. According to the surgeon this will stop the formation of the fistulas. John will be on soft food again for awhile but should recover nicely. Thank you so very much for your prayers and please remember him in your prayers for the future.
WHITAKER, MITCHELL, 23, grandson of Bob and Sally Mebane of Mt. Pleasant TX , awaiting tests results for liver disease. UPDATE: Further blood tests came back showing his enzymes were elevated and normal. No sign of cancer at this time.
Thank you for your prayers, and especially God's blessings
WILLIAMS, DAVID, Michigan - bladder cancer – UPDATE: We wanted to send an update and a sincere Thank You to everyone who has been praying for us. Thanks for your prayers. David now has a job, after 18 months without. David now has what we consider a perfect job for him. He has been working almost two months now and loves it. If that was not wonderful enough, we saw the doctor today and David's bladder cancer is gone. We will be seeing the doctor again every three months to see if the cancer returns. After a year, the check-up's decrease to twice a year, then once a year.
This is God's doing, and we cannot THANK YOU enough for your prayers... Truely praying for the brethren is a work just as the ministry or prophecy. Thanks again. David & Sue Williams
FAITH, SHELBY, 3724 Laura Ct , House Springs MO 63015 – Stage 2 breast cancer, other problems – UPDATE: “It's been difficult going thru the chemo treatments especially with all my other health issues. I've developed 2 serious infections along the way, one which put me in bed for over a week. Medications have helped both conditions and I just finished my 10th treatment this week. I only have 2 more treatments left, then a small break before I have to start 30 radiation treatments for 6 weeks. My cancer has been upgraded now to Stage 3A, which is more serious than originally diagnosed. We know that God has been with us all along the way and have seen his Hand reach out often to us. My blood counts have been staying in the normal range, so I only had to have booster shots one week for the white blood counts. Since then they continue to hold up and my red blood counts went up this past week, which means I don't have to have any blood transfusion. We're looking forward to getting thru this part of the treatment and getting to the next stage. Going to the Feast has been on our minds, but we may not be able to attend this year because of the radiation treatments. Hopefully, we can attend a few days but we have to wait and see. You brethren are all so special to us and your continuing prayers are deeply appreciated. God hears you on our behalf and on behalf of all the other brethren who need help and comfort at this time. Thanks again for your prayers, cards, emails and phone calls. Love, Shelby and Bill Faith”
