SEAMAN, KATIE, 10, Atlanta area – “diffusely infiltrative brainstem glioma” – I am sorry to report that Katie died during the night of Tuesday, October 20th. It was a very peaceful release - her body now no longer holds her beautiful soul captive. As we release Katie back to her Heavenly Father we humbly acknowledge that in many ways, Katie, through her living example, taught not only her earthly parents, but all who had the privilege of meeting and knowing her the remarkable gifts of compassion, love and a giving spirit.

So many people have joined with us in praying for a miracle. Although our specific request was not granted and we do not understand, we will continue on in faith knowing with assurance that whether it be here on earth or home in heaven our faith will become sight. The goodness of our God has not changed - only our circumstances.

Right now we hurt and we mourn deeply. The waves just seem to wash over us. We will trust the Lord to renew us day to day with His love and grace. As the prophet Isaiah spoke years ago, we will wait for the Lord to "bestow a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor." (Is. 61:3)

We ask God not to forget to repay for us all the kindness and encouragement shown to our family during these past months. SO MANY people, in SO MANY ways have blessed us. We cannot begin to repay this debt ourselves - but the Lord will repay this debt for us liberally and generously. Please pray for God’s support and comfort for her family and many friends.
